Last summer, Fabrizio Romano reported on an agreed transfer of Lucas Paquetá from West Ham to Aston Villa. At the end of that transfer window, Paquetá scored a penalty for West Ham and kissed the West Ham United badge. The Brazilian international was also close to a move to Aston Villa, which again collapsed at the start of a new transfer window.
Paquetá then stated that he was disappointed with the treatment from the English FA, which had placed him under investigation for alleged match-fixing.
The charges were dropped!
The Brazilian international was not found guilty of match-fixing, and the accusations were eventually dropped. However, Paquetá, who was expected to be one of West Ham’s most talented players and the key creator who should make the difference, failed to deliver anything in a West Ham United shirt and insisted on a transfer to Flamengo and a return to his homeland.

In the middle of that, he offered nothing to his club and has been extremely arrogant and unmotivated during many tough West Ham defeats this season. He rarely performed and did not bring the difference as expected for the team.
In the middle of a very difficult season for West Ham, instead of contributing to the team and repaying the trust of the manager and the fans, the player decided to leave West Ham United on his own. West Ham is in a serious relegation battle and needs the best version of Paquetá, not a spoiled star who was not trying his best and was not devoted to his own club.
Nuno’s tactical vision of Paqueta was not adapted. He wanted to play more in front of the goal! There were disagreements between Nuno and Paqueta concerning the player’s position!

Paquetá’s behaviour as a spoiled star, both on and off the pitch, is nothing new. A recurring weakness in Brazilian footballers is their difficulty adapting to different positions, lack of successful drilling and constant mistakes in passing. He did not respect the manager’s ideas and tactical variations.
He was not delivering at the high level in the West Ham season. Paqueta could play in midfield, but also on the left wing position.
Nuno De Spirto Santo has seen Paqueta as the potential on the winger really is, but Paqueta wanted a false 9, or so he could be closer to the goal and score more. He also wanted and favoured playing midfield instead of winger
This was enough to leave the Club, which is in the middle of the hardest relegation battles in years.
Fortunately, West Ham have strengthened in key attacking positions, but the team remains in a very difficult situation and a tough battle with Nottingham Forest.
Summerville can, Paqueta can’t?

Paquetá should have been like Summerville, whose development this season has been immeasurable. That player has moved between the lines, played on the wing, operated in midfield, worked hard, and become an important cog in West Ham’s fight for survival.
He was progressing, playing, making mistakes, and developing. His goal was denied by VAR many times, but he was doing everything he could to help West United gain points and avoid relegation. He was doing everything Lukas Paqueta did not do for West Ham United.
Paquetá will return to Brazil to join Flamengo for around £36.5 million.
