Chelsea F.C. can no longer impose their game in open play. They struggle to break down defensive blocks from match to match, and with this squad, it is unlikely they can compete across multiple competitions and win trophies. The team lacks a player capable of unlocking defences with decisive passing.
The constant schedule—week after week—has taken its toll. The team was broken by Paris Saint-Germain, where, despite creating chances, they were repeatedly punished when they needed to score. They come to sit in a position to score a goal, but it turns out to be unproductive for them.
The same pattern appeared against Newcastle United, where early missed chances led to defeat. Against Everton F.C., Chelsea performed better, but once again conceded from a single decisive moment. In one situation, Beto went one-on-one after confusion in the defensive line involving Wesley Fofana showing with a hand to, and Robert Sánchez coming out of his goal to catch the ball, leading to a crucial mistake Beto while Robert Sanchcez is trying to get the ball.

Running for a Champions League place last season, the Club World Cup, and competing in the Conference League have left their mark.

Unrealistic ambitions are now at stake! The club is paying for runs on every field that were not necessary. They cost Chelsea energy.

Chelsea signed young players in the summer! That is normal and visible now that they have flaws and aren’t perfect!
These are young players, and the combination of pressure, fatigue, and repeated setbacks while playing well is extremely difficult to handle.
Chelsea rebuilt the squad with youth during the summer months, and the team was not ready to compete on five fronts. The team was not near PSG quality, but they had their ideas that they were great. Players were stretched beyond their limits, played well, had chances and then conceded!
Just like Newcastle’s game and Everton’s zero records for great football lead to frustration, that is normal, and humans are like that. This is happening at Chelsea!
After the heavy blow from PSG, the drop-off was inevitable, and Everton, Newcastle, and Chelsea players are not capable of breaking opponents in the Premier League who are defending 90 minutes each in the Premier League and other competitions!
Everybody is defending 90 minutes against Chelsea the whole season, and Chelsea players can play as if they are against them anymore. They are broken psychologically. After PSG, I can perform at the moment. I say it. They can’t play and break defending blocks; they can play real football with normal opponents who are not defending in their box for the whole game.
They are humans, they are humans, and they are hurt. Chelsea players create a chance, try to outmanoeuvre and concede after a colossal mistake and total control they had, is broken. Chelsea conceded an impossible goal against Everton. Beto could only score an empty goal. And that has happened.
The worst Chelsea player in this Chelsea team is Wesley Fofana!
Chelsea’s former manager, “Maresca”, was running on all fronts after achieving the Champions League semi-final. He said, and I quoted, “Third semi-final in 18 months we are heaved. Chelsea is playing the punishment for him as a manager who wanted the small League Cup to cost Chelsea players’ physical and mental health.
