The Premier League is the best in the world; the best football is played there. English teams have been dominating the Champions League over the last two seasons. The new Champions League format has only strengthened English dominance in the competition.
Last season, because of fantastic performances by English clubs in European competitions, the Premier League earned an additional Champions League spot. All signs suggest the same will happen this season. English clubs have already significantly improved their coefficient, which means we will most likely have five representatives from the English Premier League in the Champions League next season.
The dominance of English teams in the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League also brought us an all-English Europa League final. While Chelsea dominantly won the Conference League. This season, almost all English clubs progressed directly to the next stage, except Newcastle, which still has a clear opportunity to beat Qarabag.

Qarabag problems and concerns- The full situation
Qarabag. form issues since their championship was on a break until the end of January. They will now have troubles to compete against Newcastle United and most likely will be eliminated
Qarabag are far from their best form because they are not playing regular domestic league football. Due to different climate conditions in Azerbaijan, they have played only two league matches in January. Their most recent games were a heavy 6–0 defeat to Liverpool in the Champions League and a home win against Eintracht Frankfurt.
It is very difficult for a team like Qarabag to maintain consistent performances without the rhythm of domestic competition. That is why Newcastle are strong favourites in this matchup. Qarabag lack competitive continuity, while Newcastle have been constantly playing since the end of December. Newcastle also reached the EFL Cup semi-final, where they were eliminated by Manchester City.
Champions League season 2025/2026 edition:
The English teams that have progressed are Arsenal, who finished first in their group, Manchester City, Tottenham, Chelsea, Liverpool and Newcastle, who did not finish in the top eight and therefore will play two additional elimination matches.
Because of all this, it is clear that even fifth place in the Premier League will likely guarantee Champions League football. Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United and potentially Aston Villa have very positive prospects, and that fifth position could be crucial for one of these clubs.

They did not qualify for the Champions League through the domestic league but secured their place by winning the Europa League. UEFA rules guarantee the Europa League winner a place in the Champions League the following season, unless that team has already qualified through their domestic league position.
