Following contacts with Manchester United several weeks ago, the Ghanaian footballer ultimately chose Manchester City as his new destination. At the beginning of January, once his release clause becomes active, Manchester City will pay €65 million to sign the former Bournemouth attacker.
Manchester City were the most convincing in their approach. Semenyo received contact from United and, without major hesitation, rejected Tottenham’s attempts to bring him to London. Chelsea made inquiries, but the lack of direct agreement regarding the player’s future made it clear that Semenyo would not move to Stamford Bridge.
