Bernardo Silva is under contract with Manchester City until the summer of 2026. If he does not extend his deal, the Portuguese international will be free to negotiate with any club about a new engagement.
After many years at City, he is playing one of the best seasons of his career. From a football perspective, it would be logical to expect him to extend his loyalty to the club. His season has been defined by excellent performances. He has arguably been City’s most reliable player — contributing with elite technique, tactical intelligence and exceptional football knowledge.
How does Bernando Silva fit into the Guardiola system?
He fits in perfectly.
In Pep Guardiola’s system, Bernardo Silva is one of the most important midfielders. His passing range and vision are outstanding. Guardiola rotates heavily and has many options in the squad, but Silva is consistently at the required level.

Is there a real chance he could leave Manchester City?
