Today, after the 0:3 loss to Chelsea, Ange Postecoglou has become the second manager sacked by the owner of Nottingham Forest this season. Just after 39 days in charge of the project, Postecoglou has been sacked. It was a situation in which the stands had abolished and terminated Ange’s contract. It was impossible to see before — almost all supporters from the City stadium in Nottingham had left during the match, giving the verdict to the ownership that he had to be replaced. The solution:
When you just watch this match against Chelsea, you can see how bad the situation in the team really is. They aren’t compact at all. They have not improved anything till Postecoglou arrived. They have lost so much. The team is in ruin, and they need to get many injections of confidence; they need to be a good training group, and they have to have real leadership in the team. They need time to adapt, and they need time to start playing football. They will surely have to lose at least a few next games and then start from zero and play football with an idea.
The team is disturbed, they are in bad straits, and they need to start playing real football. If anybody arrives as the new coach and has so much pressure on his back that the coach can’t be successful, the club will then be relegated to the Championship. The new coach has to be believed in and has to be taken out of any pressure in the beginning and later, and then Nottingham Forrest can save themselves from relegation.
We are very aware that Marinakis, Nottingham Forest’s owner, does not know this and expects instant points. That is impossible.
Arne Postecoglou did not do anything good in his time in the club — it is all gone. The players lack confidence, belief; they can’t be competitive. I will just remind you of the very arrogant press conference that Ange had before Chelsea, so he has got what he deserves.
The team needs a savior, and it is going to be hard for Nottingham Forest this season. But what was the reason Santo was replaced?
Maybe, just maybe situation is not that bad as it looks. Angre is famous for not focusing on football; he is famous for loving talking to the media and bragging about him self. Maybe his training was not setting the team up, and his lack of tactics has cost the team so badly. Maybe the team can recover earlier, but the new coach this time needs to be coaching the team with great intensity and consistency.
