At the beginning of the 2025/26 season, we see Tottenham rising in every aspect. There are glimpses of the time when they reached the Champions League final in 2018/2019, but now the project looks much bigger, and it extends to every part of the club.
First, let’s recall last season. When Arne Postecoglou was in charge, Tottenham had plenty of talented players such as Danso, Drăgușin, Richarlison, and many others with individual quality. But many were injured, out of form, or simply unwilling to play for Postecoglou. This was reflected in the injury record, which was one of the worst in the world.

Postecoglou was not a true leader. He delivered what the club asked of him: he won the Europa League, secured Champions League qualification without much success in the Premier League, and was later sacked.
Now we turn to former Brentford boss Thomas Frank, who joined Spurs with a modest approach and honest answers. He started working immediately as head coach.

He was there to win the Europa League and secure qualification for the Champions League- Then he left
Only a few months later, Tottenham look sharp, with many young players fully involved, such as Djed Spence, Lucas Bergvall, Pape Sarr, Palhinha, and new signings Kudus and Xavi Simons.

The players clearly enjoy their time under the new coach. Tottenham look sharp on the pitch and even beat Villarreal in the Champions League.
The manager is giving players the right space to express themselves, moving the ball forward quickly, with Richarlison, Tel, and Johnson receiving the ball in dangerous positions. With a good squad selection, free from bias and arrogance, Frank is working to improve the team by coaching them properly and setting them up well. He is a coach who genuinely coaches his team and discusses tactics. He is not, and never will be, Ange Postecoglou.
If we go back to the first match of the season, when Tottenham were leading 2–0 against PSG, Frank substituted Richarlison and Palhinha, and Spurs lost. He made those substitutions as if he were still at Brentford. It was a mistake at an amateur level, especially when you have a chance to beat Champions League winners PSG and win a European trophy.
Tottenham are winning at the start of this season, and yes, they have many points already. But are expectations too high now? Are they counting on points too easily, or was this just a strong start thanks to an easier Premier League schedule?
They lost 3–0 to Bournemouth. Looking at the table, Bournemouth are currently very high, even at the top of the Premier League. Personally, I think Bournemouth will stay near the top for a long period, much longer than a month or two.
Because of this, many already see the Spurs in the title race, but realistically, they don’t belong there. They beat Manchester City at the start of the season when City were not connected at all — but that is something they have done before, they have done it this year (defeating Manchester City) — and their win over Burnley was not such a big achievement. Against PSG, Frank was to blame.

Tottenham are flying high, but expectations are now greater than what they can realistically achieve. The positive thing is that they have a manager who focuses on tactics, football, and empowering the team. Also, the players are fresh, didn’t play the Club World Cup, and this is what is happening at the beginning of the season: they are all just fresh.
Frank has plenty of Premier League experience, and he wins now.

Tottenham is currently great for a reason- Thomas Frank is focused on tactics and the game
What remains to be seen is how Frank will handle injuries, which players will fit into his system, and who will be sold. The beginning of this new path was marked by Daniel Levy leaving the club, and now Tottenham can finally move forward with football being the main focus — no longer through the lens of Postecoglou
