Aston Villa are something special, and English football fans will be delighted after Villa became the new UEFA Europa League champions with a dominant 3-0 victory over SC Freiburg.
The goals were scored by Emiliano Buendía, Youri Tielemans, and Morgan Rogers.
Aston Villa, after an impressive start to the season, made several aggressive moves in the January transfer window to strengthen the squad for the future.
The club became recognised for its direct and fearless style of football, different from many other teams in Europe.

Freiburg initially stayed compact and disciplined, and after 40 minutes, the score remained 0-0. However, by halftime, Villa had already built a commanding 2-0 advantage and completely changed the rhythm of the final.
Back in December, manager Unai Emery admitted that Villa were not yet on the level of Arsenal F.C. or Manchester City F.C. in the Premier League title race. Instead of chasing unrealistic expectations, the club focused on building a stronger long-term project and preparing the team for the coming years. Result?
They won the Europa League!
By winning the UEFA Europa League, Aston Villa lifted its first major trophy since 1996 and officially opened a new era at Villa Park.

For Emery, this was another historic achievement.
The Spanish coach is now the most successful manager in UEFA Europa League history, winning the competition five times — three consecutive titles with Sevilla FC in 2014, 2015, and 2016, one with Villarreal CF in 2021, and now another triumph with Aston Villa after today’s 3-0 victory over Freiburg.
